Day 1 ~ Highlights of Chiang Rai

Transfer from the airport and begin your sightseeing tour of Chiang Rai’s highlights and temples; this intriguing northern outpost is sure to fascinate. Continue by long-tail boat to Tham Pla Cave and enjoy a samlor tour. Proceed through the town to visit a local market, where you will gain particular insight into local life.

Day 2 ~ Chiang Rai & Myanmar, Golden Triangle, Chiang Saen

Enjoy a visit to the Hilltribe Project at Doi Tung, located in the northwestern hills of Chiang Rai Province. Continue into Mae Sai for a stop at the border bridge that leads to Myanmar (Burma) and shop for regional handicrafts, or just enjoy the peopewatching. After lunch return to the Golden Triangle, overlooking the Mekong River, and travel to Chiang Saen to visit some 14th century ruins.

Day 3 ~ Elephant ride

After breakfast, depart on a long-tail boat journey to the Karen village of Ruam Mitr for an exciting elephant ride. Once across the ridge descend into a Yao hilltribe village where you will be picked up and taken for a picnic lunch. Visit other villages in the area before returning to the hotel. The rest of the day is yours at leisure.

Day 4 ~ Depart Golden Triangle

Take today at leisure until your transfer to the airport.
