The Pimalai experience begins with a picturesque private boat ride that takes you from Krabi, past stunning limestone islands jutting out of an aquamarine ocean, to stunning Koh Lanta, one of Southern Thailand’s last undisturbed islands. The resort itself is located amid 40 hectares of jungle on a secluded bay on the western side of the island.

The Pimalai’s 79 luxury rooms and suites are housed in pavilion-style villas and feature either sea or jungle views from a large private verandah. All rooms are decorated with teak and rattan features, and equipped with modern amenities including air-conditioning, satellite TV and DVD players.

Bathrooms are large and feature separate bath and shower. The oversized bathroom of the Pavilion Suite is particularly stunning, with open air shower and bathtub overlooking a small manicured garden. In November 2005, the resort opened a beautiful new pool villa wing, featuring large one, two and three bedroom villas, complete with salas, living areas and balconies.

The resort is completely selfcontained with three restaurants, infinityedge pool, a superb spa, library featuring extensive reading material and internet access, and a fitness centre. Though it is the perfect place to relax and just soak up the natural surrounds, the Pimalai also offers a range of excursions and leisure activities including cooking lessons, elephant trekking, cycling and offshore diving.
