Itinerary

Day 1 ~ Ayuthaya

Travel east to Ayuthaya, the epicentre of a far-reaching and powerful empire from 1350 to 1767. The end of Ayuthaya’s glorious reign came in the late 18th century, when the city was sacked by invading Burmese and the new capital was relocated to Bangkok. Spend time this afternoon visiting some of the more intact and famous World Heritagelisted temples. You will take in beautiful Wat Phra Sri Sanphet and Wat Mahathat, then board a long-tail boat for the short journey to Bang Pa-In, the former Royal summer residence. Late afternoon you will board the atmospheric Mekhala River Barge for the cruise back to Bangkok. On board, feast on a delicious Thai meal under the stars, then retire to your private air-conditioned cabin for the evening.

Day 2 ~ Meet the Monks in Residence and see the Morning rituals

Rise early this morning at your mooring station, near Wat Kai Tia. Here you can meet the monks in residence and see the morning rituals they perform. Continue downstream to Bangkok, disembark and transfer back to your hotel.
