Wat Phou Rice Barge

This beautiful boat has 12 cabins, each fully furnished with air-conditioning and with en suite bathrooms.  The vessel is decked out with dark wood and soft cream furnishings, an elegant and stylish combination reminiscent of the colonial era.

Meals are cooked and served on the boat and are a mouth-watering blend of Lao, Thai and French cuisine.  Massage is available on the deck of the boat.  The bar area has big rattan chairs and is a wonderful place to watch the sun set over the enchanting Four Thousand Islands.

Highlights of the boat’s itinerary are the temple ruins of Wat Phou at Champassak, more than one thousand years old, as well as the massive Khone Phapeng Waterfall, the peaceful way of life in the Four Thousand Islands and the chance to spot rare Irrawaddy freshwater dolphins in the Mekong.

This three day two night cruise is the best way to explore this untouched region – discover a world far away from the tourist trail yet still from a base of comfort and luxury.
