Osian Camel CampSituated 65 km from Jodhpur, the small village of Osian is a typical Rajasthani village. The village itself is best known for its cluster of early Jain and Hindu temples, dating back to the eighth and ninth centuries. The village and its small train station was also the setting for a Louis Vuitton advertisement! The camel camp itself is a unique experience. Individual tents have paisley interiors and individual bathrooms. The camp itself has not only a beautiful swimming pool but a great bar. If you are lucky, the owner of the camp, Reggie Singh, will entertain you. He is the grandson of the Maharajah of Jodhpur and is an excellent host. Using the camp as your base, it is possible to take a camel ride and also to visit some of the surrounding Bishnoi or Bhil villages.
