Umaid Bhawan Palace

From single, double/twin per person

The palace’s private road winds upwards, through sprawling gardens to the grand lobby, where guests enter a world apart. Completed in 1943 and designed by the great Edwardian architect Henry Lanchester in a combination of Eastern and Western styles reflecting the Art Deco sensibilities of the time, the palace originally featured 347 rooms.

Now housing just 64 rooms, the huge spaces both inside and out are a feature of this remarkable property. Home to the Jodhpur royal family since the 1940’s, you may meet the former Maharajah whilst strolling the palace grounds.

All the expected luxuries are here, from a swimming pool to a Jiva Spa and a variety of restaurants that serve Western and local cuisine; there is even a palace museum and library. Rooms are spacious and feature Art Deco flourishes. Most have superb views of the city. This is a refined experience of the royal lifestyles of India’s princely past.
