THE SCOOP The Anantara is stylish and welcoming, an oasis of luxury in this remote part of the world. The hotel has been built to reflect the style of local hilltribes but features all the necessary modern amenities.
THE LOCATION The hotel is situated in a stunning remote location. From the Anantara guests have views across to Myanmar (Burma) and Laos. The small village of Sop Ruak is around 5–10 minutes away by car. The Chiang Rai airport is 72km away (approximately one and a half hours by car).
THE GOODS Rooms: All 90 guest rooms feature a balcony, mini-bar, satellite TV with two movie channels, in-room safe, IDD telephone and hairdryer. Each guest room has a private balcony with a sofa, perfect for admiring the wonderful views, and bathrooms feature a two-person Terrazzo bathtub. The bathtub is separated from the guest room by sliding glass panels. Rooms feature Thai artefacts, teak floors and stylish décor. Our Preferred Room: The hotel offers Deluxe rooms or Suites. Deluxe rooms are large and there is no real need to upgrade to a Suite unless you crave the ultimate luxury.
Restaurants: There are two restaurants at the Anantara – a contemporary Italian and a Northern Thai speciality restaurant. The resort’s Elephant Bar and Opium Terrace are great places for a sunset cocktail.
Facilities: There is a fully-equipped gym and squash court, as well as a renowned spa.

THE POOL The free-form infinity edge pool has views of Myanmar (Burma) and Laos, and is surely one of the most impressive pools in Northern Thailand.
THE FAMILY Babysitting is available at the hotel on request. The hotel also operates its own elephant camp nearby, a great experience for the entire family.
