Giant Panda Breeding Base

Giant pandas, which can only be found in the wild in China's Sichuan, Shaanxi and Gansu provinces, are one of China's national treasures. The giant panda is still on the endangered list; there are only about 1500 in the world, 80% of them Sichuan province.
The Giant Panda Breeding Base and Research Center recreates the giant panda's natural habitat, which shows visitors how these magnificent creatures live in the wild and how captive-born pandas are prepared for reintroduction into the wild. Many types of bamboo, trees and indigenous flowers thrive at the center, and several species of bird including black-necked cranes also live here.
Not to be missed on your visit is the Giant Panda Museum located at the Centre.
